Eatonia welcomes nominations for Senior Citizen Achievement Award
By Joan Janzen
EATONIA—Eatonia’s Heritage Board is recognizing people 65 years of age and older who have made notable contributions to their community. Nominations are being accepted for the Senior Citizen Achievement Award, and forms can be picked up and dropped off at the Eatonia Town Office. The deadline for nominations is Monday, May 12, at noon.
Sharon Price from the Heritage Board said there are so many deserving candidates who could be nominated. The Heritage Board has given out five previous awards recognizing individuals who have demonstrated outstanding community contributions through volunteerism and have made an impact in their community by investing time and effort in improving the quality of life for others.
Criteria include volunteerism in several diverse areas and substantial volunteer service directly to and for the benefit of the Eatonia community. The nominee must be a current resident of Eatonia or immediate RM areas, and their activities may have taken place at any time.
You are required to list events and committees in which the individual was involved within the following categories: health and education, sports and recreation, service clubs, church activities, community events, helping agencies and any other areas of contribution.
