Fun Fact: Beach Ions

Along beaches and shorelines, we are bombarded by ions, which are negatively-charged particles in the air produced by the pounding surf. A beach can have as much as 2,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter, as opposed to a crowded city that may have less than 100.

Some research indicates that exposure to negative air ions is linked to reduced depression, lowered anxiety and improved feelings of well-being.
